Two Days of Exceptional Competition Showcase NEGS Facilities and the Quality of Riders Across NSW

ARMIDALE, NSW – The Thunderbolt Equine Veterinary Services Showjumping Winter Classic has concluded, and the calibre of competition, community support, and genuine partnerships that brought the event to life speak volumes about what's possible when regional communities invest in equestrian excellence.

Over two days, our 50-hectare campus hosted riders from across New South Wales competing in multiple divisions from 45 cm through to 120 cm. What struck us most wasn't just the quality of the riding – though that was genuinely impressive – but the sense of genuine partnership that made the event work so seamlessly.

From the outset, we knew we wanted to create an event that reflected our values: excellence grounded in authentic care, community investment, and genuine support for riders and their horses. That's precisely why the partnership with Thunderbolt Equine Veterinary Services felt so natural.

Competition Highlights Across All Divisions

Competition unfolded across multiple rings, with remarkable performances at every level. From the smaller divisions showcasing emerging talent through to the elite amateur classes, riders demonstrated the skill, dedication, and horsemanship that defines quality equestrian sport.

65-90cm Division featured strong performances from Josh Bourke, Eva Nelson, Georgina Pillar, and others, proving that genuine talent emerges at every level. The support from sponsors like Warrego Warmbloods, PLS Performance Horses, and Trojan Horse Floats helped make these divisions accessible and well-supported.

100-110cm Division showcased riders testing themselves against increasingly demanding courses. Performers like Rhani Spencer-Ruddy, Annabelle Dunlop, Brock Harvey, and Nicola Geddes demonstrated the consistency and skill required at this level. The JNSW Amateur of the Year series class proved particularly competitive, with Nicola Geddes taking the honours.

120cm Division featured Bella Witt, Georgina Pillar, and others competing at the highest levels hosted by the school. These classes represent genuine quality competition accessible in regional NSW.

The Open Six-Bar and Junior Six-Bar classes provided a compelling conclusion to each day. Emily Patterson's victory in the Open Six-Bar, sponsored by Thunderbolt Equine Veterinary Services, demonstrated the calibre of horsemanship on display throughout the weekend.
