Our Year 11 Primary Industries students recently had the opportunity to travel to Alice Springs and experience a unique insight into life in the Australian cattle industry.
One of the highlights of the trip was visiting T.R. Riddock Station, where students got a firsthand taste of station life. They were able to see and participate in a range of cattle management activities, including mustering, branding, and marking cattle. This provided students with valuable practical experience and a greater understanding of the skills and hard work involved in managing large-scale beef cattle operations.
Throughout the visit, students gained an appreciation for the challenges and rewards of working in the agricultural industry while learning from experienced station staff. The trip was an excellent opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world agricultural practices and gave students a memorable insight into one of Australia's most important industries.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Cadzow family for their incredible hospitality and generosity in hosting our students. Their willingness to share their knowledge, experiences, and daily station operations made this a truly valuable learning experience. The time and effort they dedicated to our group were greatly appreciated by both staff and students.
