NEGS: A Legacy of Excellence Since 1895
In 1895, the remarkable Miss Florence Green established the New England Girls' School with unwavering conviction and a visionary spirit. Among the four educational institutions she founded, NEGS became her enduring passion, flourishing into one of Australia's premier girls' boarding schools.
The influence of NEGS alumni stretches across Australia—from Armidale to Brisbane, Sydney to Canberra—a testament to Miss Green's enduring legacy. This powerful network continues to provide bursaries, ensuring that deserving students can access the transformative NEGS experience regardless of financial circumstances.
NEGS invites current families and alumni to mark its 130-year milestone at a celebratory gala on Saturday, 24 May, hosted on the historic school grounds. This significant anniversary also launches a dedicated fundraising campaign, calling upon past students to support programs that will extend the school's reach to future generations.
