NEGS News Term 4 Week 1

A Welcome Back message from our Principal.

Please watch - WELCOME TO TERM 4 MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL, Ms Liz van Genderen.

Please note the important reminders:

- Students are to return wearing Full School Summer Uniform.

- All Parents are warmly invited to attend the 2022/23 Prefect Induction Assembly on Tuesday, 11 October, at 1.50 pm.

- A Colour Run is being held at the end of Week 1; students, please bring something 'white' for this event and bring something 'red' to wear for our 'Do it Heartily' well-being day end of Week  2.

Welcome back to school for Term Four. We hope you and your family have enjoyed a restful break together, free from routine and with much-needed downtime to re-energise.

This term is gearing up to be busy, with many events on the horizon. Typically, Term Four feels more like a sprint than a marathon, and in the Junior School, this is certainly the case.

Creating balance and ensuring students engage fully in the opportunities provided is key to the continued success for our students, both academically and socially. This term, we look forward to participating in Martial Arts sessions supported by the Sporting Schools grant, NE Sings, our Stage Three excursion to Canberra, and School Celebratory Days, including ‘Whatsoever you do, do it HEARTily Day’ and World Kindness Day. We also continue our preparation for our Junior School musical, which will be showcased in the final week of Term Four.

With so many exciting occasions on the calendar, we look forward to joining together as the NEGS school community to celebrate, recognise and acknowledge the participation and achievement of our students.

Junior School Coordinator

TERM 4 NOTICES

Don't forget!

Colour Run - Let's Colour NEGS

On Friday, 14 0ctober, a Colour Run is planned to celebrate the commencement of Term 4. The Colour Run will undoubtedly be a fun afternoon for all students fromPre-K to Year 12, bringing our school community together. Students will change out of their uniform before the Colour Run, so they will need to bring a change of clothes that day that they are happy to have coloured. We suggest a white T-shirt. This event will take place in Period 5; parents, you are very welcome to come along and enjoy the fun.

On Thursday and Friday, we will also welcome girls joining our Senior School next year for the Girls' Night In Experience days. So please join us in giving these ladies a warm welcome.

The Junior School 'Step Up' day will be held on the 28 November.

Wellbeing Day - 21 October

A whole school well-being day is planned for Friday, 21 October; students will be encouraged to wear something red on this day. It will be a gold coin donation as we raise funds for Heart Research Australia.

Are you looking for a fun evening whilst supporting our local community?

Seasons of New England are celebrating ten years in 2023 and are holding a special evening at Deeargee woolshed. Tara from Seasons of New England is a NEGS old girl. Deeargee woolshed has been in the careful hands of the same family for seven generations, with Cathie and Hugh Sutherland and their four children, Anna, Sophie, Charlie and Angus, currently at the helm. Cathie, Anna and Sophie are all old girls.

Please share this event with the wider NEGS community. It would be great to get a NEGS table or two.

It takes a Village!

A famous ancient proverb says it takes a village to raise a child. At NEGS, we believe our School is that village where the whole NEGS community supports each child.

After a couple of challenging years, it has been lovely to again this year start to gather again as a community, whether it has been on the side of the sports fields, at equestrian events or on the many weekends throughout the year when the P and F have managed the BBQ at the Hockey Carnivals. Thank you to all our parents who have generously given their time to support these events and our children.

With excitement, we look towards 2023 to build a stronger village.

Your help is required.

We are looking for parent volunteers to get involved in 2023.
